With clear aligners from Invisalign and Balance Advanced Dentistry & Orthodontics, children, teens, and elf bar 0 nicotine adults can get straighter smiles without anyone noticing the treatment!

Our Invisalign Process at Balance Advanced

While most people invest in orthodontics to get straighter smiles, treatment can also benefit oral health. At Balance Advanced, we offer a series of teeth-straightening aligner trays for a discreet way to straighten your smile.

As your Invisalign® dentist, we give you a professional, efficient, customizable teeth straightening treatment. Invisalign involves a series of clear plastic aligner trays that discreetly fit over your teeth.

Your aligners are unnoticeable and easy to remove when eating, brushing your teeth, playing sports, taking pictures, and doing anything else you want.

As long as you wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, you can enjoy the versatility of Invisalign and avoid the frustration of traditional metal braces.

A Modern Approach

You can get a straighter smile at Balance Advanced Dentistry & Orthodontics with a series of custom-made, clear aligners. First, we'll take an impression of your teeth to create your aligners.

The aligners are made of a strong, flexible thermoplastic material, so they're comfortable to wear for long periods, and the material is nearly invisible.

You should wear your aligners for 22 hours a day and switch them out for the next set every two weeks. Over months, the aligners will slowly move your teeth into place, making one minor adjustment at a time that is targeted to specific teeth.

This helps your teeth to be comfortable as they are moved into position at a manageable pace. Once you finish wearing your aligners, your teeth will be perfectly straight.

Ideal for Teens

Many teens worry that orthodontic treatment will interrupt their life, but that isn't the case with Invisalign! Since the aligners are clear, they will not impact your teen's appearance. And, since they only need to be worn for 22 hours daily, they won't interfere with eating.

This is a huge advantage because your teen can eat their favorite foods, go out with friends, and enjoy regular activities without worry.

Designed for Little Smiles

Kids in Duluth and the surrounding areas can get comfortable and clear results with Invisalign® treatment at Balance Advanced Dentistry & Orthodontics.

Using Invisalign for Kids in Phase 1 Treatment

As your child grows, their smile grows with them, and even with baby teeth, children ages 6 to 10 can start orthodontic treatment to get the best results.

This is known as Phase 1 treatment. At this stage, orthodontists can see issues that may need early treatment to address a developing problem.

About Invisalign First

In 2018, Invisalign released a clear aligner system for patients ages 7-10 called Invisalign First or Invisalign First Phase.

Our team of dental experts can use Invisalign clear aligners to create predictable results and positive experiences for your child while addressing their unique needs.

Invisalign First at Balance Advanced Dentistry & Orthodontics can treat:

  • Aesthetic alignment
  • A bad bite
  • Arch development
  • Crowding
  • Preserving space for unerupted permanent teeth

Caring for Invisalign

We recommend removing your aligners, rinsing them with warm water, and brushing them with a soft toothbrush daily.

Regular Checkups

You'll need to see us for regular checkups to ensure that teeth move according to plan. Fortunately, since the aligners are made at the beginning of the procedure, these appointments are less frequent than with metal braces.

A metal bracket is placed on each tooth with traditional braces, and a wire is threaded between them and then held in place using rubber bands. The wires must be adjusted regularly to keep teeth moving in the right direction. This requires frequent office visits.

Frequent visits are inconvenient for people with busy schedules, and any delay in appointments can prolong the length of braces treatment. With Invisalign®, we see patients less often because the checkups are to ensure treatment is working.

Treatment Time

The Invisalign process takes around twelve months for most patients living in the Duluth area. The exact timeframe will depend on your situation; only our team can tell you how long you'll need to wear your aligners. Overall, treatment time tends to be less than with other treatment options.

Invisalign Attachments

Some patients need to wear attachments or ridges to ensure that their teeth move into place perfectly. An attachment is a clear bump made of an enamel-colored composite and secured to the teeth.

Bumps on your aligners will grip them to hold the aligner in place. Ridges work similarly, only an indent is created instead of a raised bump. This can be necessary for more complicated cases to ensure that a particular tooth, or several teeth, move into place like they should.

Differences Between Braces & Invisalign

When it comes to Invisalign treatment, there’s a lot to consider. Most Invisalign patients at Balance Advanced Dentistry & Orthodontics enjoy shorter check-ups, fewer appointments, simpler oral hygiene, and fewer emergency visits.

However, the system's biggest pro can also be a con—the fact that the aligners are removable. Your cooperation is essential, whether you have braces or Invisalign.

Since braces are attached to your teeth, they do the heavy lifting to keep your treatment progressing. With Invisalign, you need to do extra work during your treatment so your trays can complete your treatment.

You’ll need to manage your wear time, keep your aligners clean, and swap them out for the next aligner in the series. Like traditional metal braces, we recommend wearing a retainer after your Invisalign treatment to maintain your new alignment and confident new smile.
