Juan Carlos Hernandez, DDS, is a certified Doctor of Dental Surgery born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. In 1996, he received his dentistry degree from Javeriana University in Bogota. After practicing dentistry for several years in Colombia, Dr. Hernandez moved to New York City.
He attended New York University, where he trained in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in the International Program, then continued with the Advanced Dentistry Program, earning his D.D.S. in 2007. For the next three years following his graduation, he moved to Fort Stewart to practice in the US Army active-duty service.
In 2010, he moved to Atlanta, where he practiced Advance Dentistry at Balance Advanced Dentistry and Orthodontics. At the same time, he joined the Georgia National Guard, where he has been a Dental Officer since 2010 to now.
Dr. Hernandez is a Fellow of the American Academy of General Dentistry and an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and welcomes new patients of all ages.

Dr. Liliana Rios is the newest Balance Advanced Dentistry & Orthodontics doctor. She got her BS in Biology from the University of Georgia and went on to graduate from a top program, earning her DDS from the UNC School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill.
She’s originally from the Atlanta area and is returning home after practicing in North Carolina. Dr. Rios is gentle and warm, treating all patients like family. She has a passion for aesthetics and pushes herself to learn new techniques for creating beautiful smiles.
During dental school, Dr. Rios was extremely involved in volunteer work and outreach trips, including a trip to Uganda. She continues to make outreach work a priority.
Dr. Rios was a former collegiate athlete who still enjoys playing sports and being active. She speaks both English and Spanish and currently welcomes patients of all ages.

Originally from Columbia, Dr. Claudia received her DDS degree in 1995. After working several years in Columbia, she moved to the US. Dr. Claudia completed her American dental training receiving her DMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
With more than 25 years of experience as a dentist, Dr. Claudia understands that for many patients visiting the dentist may be the cause of fear or anxiety. She uses her skills and gentle chairside manner to put her patients at ease throughout their dental treatment and strives to provide them with a comfortable experience.
Dr. Claudia enjoys practicing all aspects of dentistry and provides comprehensive dental treatment to patients of all ages.
