Metal Braces

These are the most common orthodontic appliances among children and adolescent patients. They are made of high grade stainless steel metal, bonded to each tooth using a dental adhesive connected by a metal arch wire. With these type of fix appliances you can wear colored elastics around each bracket for a more unique and colorful smile.

Self-Ligating Braces.

Self-ligating braces are made from the same materials as traditional braces. However, self-ligating braces do not require the use of elastics, meaning fewer appointments and less friction being placed on the tooth. Self-ligating braces come with traditional metal or clear brackets. They are the same size as metal braces, but use a specialized clip in place of elastics to help the archwire guide teeth into place. The clip helps reduce the amount of pressure being placed on the tooth, and requires fewer adjustments because there are no elastics to replace.

Clear Braces

Mostly common between adult patients clear brackets are made from ceramic material to blend in with your natural teeth color. They work the same way as the traditional metal brackets but they provide a greater option for less noticeable orthodontic appliances.

Clear Aligners

Retainers

Retainers are designed to stop your teeth from moving after braces or aligners have been removed. To straighten teeth, we must loosen them to move them into the correct position Once in the correct position, we must retain the teeth there to allow the bone to heal and the teeth to tighten in the bone. This is done by wearing your retainers faithfully. Retainers are custom made to fit comfortably on your mouth and they can be wither removable or fixed

Why are crooked
teeth a problem?

Teeth that are not aligned properly in your mouth create what dentist call “malocclusion.” Left untreated, malocclusion can lead to periodontal disease and create abnormal amounts of stress on teeth and jaws, which leads to premature wear.

Types of malocclusion and
its potential issues:

Crowding

Spacing

Deep Bite

Crossbite

Excessive Overjet

Open bite
